Also, if you edit the event on the google calendar, you can change what happens too. I added a reminder and chose email:

But since you are using gmail as the primary calendar source, I would edit the event there first and then allow the sync to happen. To remove the reminder as show above, just click the X next to it.

Hi Ben, yes... you are correct. when he deletes the reminder e-mail in outlook it cancles the event in his outlook calender and most likey in his google calender as well.
